Project Proposals

So you’ve identified a problem in our city and you might have an idea and you think we can help. That’s awesome, we hope we can help too!

But first, we need to make sure that your project meets our eligibility criteria so we can improve the chances of a successful outcome.

Eligibility Criteria

• The problem impacts residents of the Greater Atlanta area

• Project can be completed within anywhere from 1 week to 1 year

• Technology-related problem or potential for a tech solution

• You’re able to continue supporting and maintaining the solution without us

• Dedicated point of contact prepared to spend a mutually agreed upon amount of time interacting with the project team

What To Expect

Great planning is the key to any great project, and we want every project to be set up for success!

Every project will go through some form of the steps below.

Project Evaluation and Planning

1. Project Evaluation

Once you submit your proposal, we'll review it for alignment with the group's goals and capabilities, and decide whether to move forward.

Every project evaluation will look a little different. Some may be rough ideas, while others are nearly completely planned out. 

We're good with either!

2. Statement of Work

Once we have the information we need, we'll work together to create an initial, high-level project plan.

3. Project Team

The moment is here! Now we'll present the project to the broader group, and get volunteers who are interested in working on it!

4. Project Team Alignment

The project team will work with you to establish a shared understanding of expectations for:

• Project scope

• How we’ll work together

• What the handoff will be like at the end of the project

Project Execution and Delivery

5. Project Execution

Based on what has been discussed and established in the prior phases, the team will do the work collaboratively with you.

Let's do the thing, and make this idea a reality!

6. Project Handoff

Once the expected deliverables have been achieved, it’s handed off to you to continue, again based on what was discussed earlier.
